Impressions on a Pale Lake
$7.95
This short piece is deeply pensive and introspective. It depicts someone sitting alone at the shore of a lake on a cool summer night, staring at the water and thinking. All has the appearance of quiet and calm, but the mind is alight with memory. He thinks of mistakes he has made, opportunities he passed up, and imagines a thousand ways things could have been different. At the end of the piece, in almost despondent resignation, he remains seated with a desire for change but lacking the commitment to act. Each of us has times where we are filled with regret, but if we can find the strength to stand up and move on we can change our circumstances and become happier.
