Hallelujah
$2.50
I started writing “Hallelujah” in December of 2018. At the time, Zach Griffin and I were regularly doing Four-Hand piano numbers together and we had talked about trying to make a full Christmas album the next year. I thought it would be good to have a couple original numbers for that set and this light melody was the result. I think I was also inspired by Peter Hollens’ “December Song” which I had recently heard for the first time. In any case, this was originally going to be a Four-Hand piano piece, but I ended up adapting it as a solo work.
Included in your download are two alternate scorings for the last section of the piece: one with vocals, and one where the vocals are omitted, instead covering the melody in the piano. Also included are a few performance notes and tips.
